I travel constantly but do not have a laptop. Is there a way to make my iTunes run on my portable harddrive? - how can i run my itunes from an external harddrive

I have an iPod touch second generation, and I'm constantly on the road away from my home computer, which makes it impossible for me, my iTunes to manage. How can I connect my iTunes to my external 320 GB SATA hard drive from any computer that my hard disk (assume that technically a portable hard drive, which would make this right)? I also Cucusoft hard drive if it can help any? Please help step by step instructions, because the answer would be great.
